The Holy Bible in 1 year - Day 154

Hello! Let's continue reading the Bible with Psalms 123 to 126. Psalm 123 establishes that God is The LORD and thus we rise our eyes to Him, looking for conform ,love and kindness. He is the one to which we look up to because He is also our example. Furthermore, in Psalm 124 God is shown to be the one who saves us from the evil of this world. When that evil comes to destroy us, whatever form we take, He is our refuge and shield and in Him we find peace and salvation. In Psalm 125 we see more evidence of this as we are assured that the reign of those who do evil and work inequity will not last forever, but God will establish His kingdom so that the reign of evil is destroyed. And so blessed are those who put their faith in the LORD for they will never have their hopes betrayed; those who are just , faithful and lovers of God will be redeemed. Psalm 126 continues to glorify God; it talks about the deliverance of captives and how God delivers those who were prisoners and sets them free, to the much rejoicement of their fellow men. But more that prisoners of war we must understand that here God speaks about freeing those who are prisoners of sin, and how He will redeem them, just like He promises. It is wonderful to see Jesus Christ talking to us through these words, assuring us that as He promised He will always set us free from our captivity in sin if we look up to Him and pray for His help.

PSALM 123
Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

PSALM 124
If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;
If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

PSALM 125
They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.
For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.
Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.
As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

PSALM 126
When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.
The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
